Rome: Total War (often abbreviated to RTW or Rome) is a critically acclaimed strategy game comprised of turn-based strategy and real-time tactics parts in which the player fights historical and fictitious battles within the Roman Republic era. The game was developed by Creative Assembly, and released on September 22, 2004. A demo of the game was released on August 23, 2004 and is freely available for downloading. It features a playable version of the Battle of the Trebia, with the player taking the role of Hannibal.

Multiplayer[]

Rome:Total War includes a built-in Multiplayer game play accessible only by GameSpy (Arcade), when installed players will be able to play against on-line players; this feature however requires a GameSpy (Arcade) account, and the disk with the correct version.
